Inspiring Personal Growth and Unity with Nature

Updates at Milagro Retreats

Greetings from our farm in the Cowichan Valley where we are enjoying the flow of our summer offerings. Balancing travel with gardening and hOMe Grown Living Foods is a magical dance that we are honored to be participating in.

As I followed the luminous moon home from Tofino with the taste of Blueberries on my palette, gratitude overwhelmed me. Communing with a vibrant group of souls at our Journey Through the 5 Elements Yoga Retreat in the Tofino Botanical Gardens, was so rewarding. Witnessing transformation on many levels in each of our guests, I thanked the universe for the opportunity to provide nourishment at Milagro Retreats.

Comments from our guests included:
"Truly inspiring, invigorating and energizing"
"Milagro invigorated my body, mind and soul"
"Definitely coming back next year"
"Natural Breath, Bodacious Goddess Beauty, Yoga Surf Spirit"
~ a Haiku by Susan J.

Aquarius rules the global community. This is the Full Moon to honor freedom, idealism, humanitarianism, egalitarianism, and the revolutionary impulse toward reform, without causing harm to anyone.

Aquarius is the impulse to raise-up everyone and leave no one behind. So in service to these calls to action, become responsible and find out what is really happening around you. Get involved in your community, volunteer your time, and raise awareness in your neighborhood.

Living Pies

These delicious pies can be created with whatever fruit is locally available. In Baja, Mexico where the fruit and dates are abundant, we serve these as a Milagro Retreats staple to introduce sugar free, ultra healthy dessert alternatives.

Crust for 1 pie
1 cup almonds, soaked 12 hours - overnight
1 cup fresh grated fresh coconut or dried, soaked for 1 hour
1 cup medjool dates pitted and soaked 2-3 hours

Mindful Preparation:
1. Strain ingredients, reserving the date liquid.
2. Grind almonds, add coconut and dates with enough liquid to emulsify.
3. Press mixture into a lightly greased pie plate and dehydrate for 6-8 hours. Or on the lowest setting in the oven 2-4 hours.

Fruit Filling
4 cups fresh fruit ~ local blueberries and rhubarb are our current favorite combination... use your imagination, and what is locally available
Juice of 2 limes
Juice of 1 orange
1/4 cup Psyllium husk
3-5 drops of Stevia ~ optional
1/2 cup toasted coconut and fresh fruit for garnish

Mindful Preparation:

1. Blend all ingredients and pour into your dehydrated pie crust. Allow to set for 1 hour or longer in your fridge.
2. Garnish with fresh fruit and toasted coconut.
*This pie can also be served frozen
