Updates at Milagro Retreats
Greetings from the Cowichan Valley, where we are reintegrating into 'Island Life' after another Blissful Baja Winter. With the spring Equinox on March 20th and the New Moon in Pisces today, the Milagro Garden is entering our consciousness. Our Kale has miraculously survived recent snow and sleet, tasting sweeter than ever. The garlic is poking through the deep straw mulch and this weekend attending a local 'Seedy Saturday,' we stocked on up on heritage seeds. Milagro Menus are dancing through our minds, as we plan the summer garden.

New Moon in Pisces
The New Moon offers opportunities to "reboot" our energy and approach to a particular area of life. Today ~ Monday, March 15th at 2:01pm (PST) the reinvention process begins, as the Sun and Moon join shocking Uranus and clever Mercury in the intuitive sign of Pisces. We may have a psychic flash that awakens a dream, or a surprising experience that takes us in a new direction. We're also particularly attuned to others' suffering now. And, our own pain might feel more acute. Because Pisces is so watery and emotional, it's wise to stay connected to our bodies, honor our feelings and not allow our fears to run away with us.

Recipe for Nori Rolls
Yields 15
These fantastic rolls are a marriage of the fragile Vietnamese Salad Roll and Japanese Sushi Rolls and travel well for dinner parties or picnics. Serve with a spicy peanut sauce.
1 package of vermicelli rice noodles
2 cups carrots, julienne
2 cups jicama, julienne
1 cup cucumber, julienne
1 cup red pepper, julienne
4 stalks green onion, minced
2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 Tbsp Braggs or 1 Tbsp tamari
4 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp pickled ginger, minced
˝ cup cashews, toasted
˝ cup cilantro, minced
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
15 sheets of toasted nori
15 rice paper wrappers
1. Soak vermicelli noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes to soften. Drain and rinse with cold water.
2. Combine noodles, vegetables and condiments. Toss to thoroughly combine.
3. Set up your working station with a bowl of warm water and a clean surface to roll.
4. Place one rice paper at a time in hot water for 15-20 seconds….until soft.
5. Place softened paper on surface and cover with 1 sheet of nori.
6. Take 1/4 cup of noodle mixture and place in the bottom half of the nori, leave an inch of space at the bottom of the nori, fold over the mixture, fold the sides in and roll into burritos.

Two yoga classes a day, a series of 5Rhythms sessions and the healing ambience of the ocean at Mexico's newest eco retreat center will calm your system and enliven your senses.
Two yoga classes are offered each day--an energetic practice in the morning and a calming restorative practice before dinner, including pranayama and deep relaxation. You will have the opportunity to sink into your asana practice, whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for a long time.
5Rhythms sessions will focus on moving to music. There are no steps or technique to learn, no choreography to figure out. All that is required is a body that is still breathing, a heart that is still beating, and a mind that is still curious.
