the Visitor Centre past kitchen gardens, the Frog Pond,

have been transformed into a series of pocket gardens.

About the Teachers
Lesley Orminston
For the past 10 years,
Lesley has been cultivating a living practice of yoga.
Her roots come from studies in Classical Ashtanga and Hatha
Yoga, and her teaching style invites conscious movement
as a way to create deep connections throughout the body,
with the breath and intention.
For Lesley, the practice
of yoga on the mat serves as preparation for the practice
of yoga in the world. Dedicated to a path of service
and healing work, she is currently studying Traditional
Chinese Medicine, practicing massage and energy work along
side teaching yoga in Victoria, B.C. She is
also part of the teaching faculty for the Salt Spring Centre
of Yoga’s annual Yoga Teacher Training program.
Hemalayaa Behl
"A healthy mind, a healthy body, a joyous life, flow
from an open heart."
This is the outlook
that makes the journey of yoga with Hemalayaa so joyous
and playful. A hallmark of Hema’s
classes is the sound of laughter; her own and that of her
students.
On one level, her class resembles any asana
room where students stretch, sweat, breathe hard and elongate
muscles and tendons. It’s that, and much more. Hema’s special gift is a teaching style
that invites students to embark on a journey to their own inner joy.
Hema’s
yoga classes are about fitness in the fullest possible sense. She teaches in
Los Angeles and also offers frequent workshops in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto
as well as retreats in some of the world’s most stunning settings.

Carsten Hunter
The Feldenkrais method
offers a way to re-organize our body awareness at the deepest
neurological level. It can expand our repertoire of movements,
enhance our awareness, improve function and enable us to
express ourselves more fully.
The Awareness Through Movement lessons consist of verbally
directed movement sequences presented primarily to groups.
These lessons attempt to make one aware of their habitual
neuromuscular patterns and to expand options for new ways
of moving, while increasing sensitivity and improving efficiency.
